Baby Just Started School

My oldest daughter Telesa Luevoytamanuela Savelio (Telesa-Lu for short) started school Aug. 27th. She's now a kindergartener! I was so sad to see her go and worried that maybe I should've kept her back another year til she was 5 going on 6 to start....just so that by the time she would graduate, she'd atleast be 18 and would be more mature and make wiser decisions. But....I know that I'd just be holding her back from growing! She'll learn in due time. As for making the right decisions....its up to me as a parent and her father to rear her in that right direction. Raising her in the gospel will help me even more and I'm grateful for that!

This girl was ready to go! She was sitting at her desk, eager to do anything the teacher told her...We were able to stay with her for 30 minutes and then left. Her teacher was a bit older and seemed experienced and knew what she was doing. Not fresh from college and first time teacher. She told us all about her and her family. What her husband and daughters did, gave us her number and email address for the parents. Her teacher gave us a packet and information on what she was planning to do this semester and what we could expect. For me, that was the most comforting feeling...to know that her teacher would take care of her and knew what she was doing! So we said our good-bye's to her and she didn't even cry! She just said bye and smiled....thats when I knew she was on her way to growing up without me in her life 24/7. It's been 3 days now and I'm getting used to it. We have the best talks and she seems to surprise me everyday! This girl amazed me when she was just a year old!

She walked at 8 months old, talked pretty well for her age at 1 1/2. By 2, she helped me clean up when ever she saw me cleaning....asked me if she could help cook and more! Telesa was kind and was already climbing more and higher than other kids (which scared the crap out of me!). By 3 she was walking and talking and riding bikes, swimming and trying to hula dance. When she turned 3, her father and I taught her the alphabet & 123's. By 4, Telesa was writing her name, my name, her dad's name, her sisters name and her cousin maimai's name! She knew her additions and subtractions up to 10 and is now learning past that. We've decided to pause there and let kindergarten take its course and do their part in teach her.

I guess for now its just a waiting game and time for me to be on my toes with everything my kids do! I'm excited and scared at the same time, but BRING IT ON! ;)
